A boat trip on one of our iconic wooden rowing boats has become an essential part of every summer excursion to the Lake in Braies. After all, there are only a few places in the world where you can row across calm, crystal-clear water surrounded by this kind of mountain landscape.
A trip on one of our expertly crafted rowing boats will take you back in time, as this type of boat has been on the waters for over a century.

How to Reach Lake Braies
You can reach the parking lot near the lake (P3 or P4) by car. All parking lots are subject to charges.
The Braies Valley is closed from July 10, 2025, to September 10, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. During this period, a parking reservation is required, which can be made on the website www.prags.bz.it.
Outside of this period and these times, no reservation is needed.
Alternatively, you can reach Lake Braies with bus line 442 from the train stations in Niederdorf and/or Welsberg.

May: 10:00a.m. - 4:30p.m.
June: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
July / August: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
September: 9:00a.m. - 6:00p.m.
October / November: 10:00a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Is it possible to book private access to the bathouse?
Do you dream of having this iconic location all to yourself?
For 450€ you have the unique shooting location and two of our wooden boats all to yourself for 1h30 before the opening of the rental.
A photographer is not provided with this package.
CAN I FLY WITH A DRONE AT THE LAKE?
The entire lake is part of the Fanes-Sennes Braies National Park and areas around the lake are private property. For this reason it is forbidden to fly drone!
Please respect this restriction, especially for the sake of the wildlife!
Please note that any violation of this rule can result in high fines!
CAN I BRING MY OWN BOAT?
As the Braies Lake is part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies National Park, neither your own boats nor stand-up paddleboards are allowed.

HOW LONG might i HAVE TO QUEUE FOR A BOAT RIDE?
You may have to wait up to 2h during high season.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN RIDE IN A ROWBOAT?
Max. 5 adults can be accommodated in one boat.
Are children allowed on the boat?
Children of all ages are welcome on the boat tour on the Lago di Braies. Children or young people under 16 must be accompanied by an adult during the boat trip.

Children up to 4 years of age ride the boat for free
Children from 4-12 years receive a 50% discount
Each child counts as one person in the boat (i.e. max. 5 persons incl. children)
CAN i bring my dog on the boat?
The Private Boat Ride Experience, allows you to bring your dog on board with you. Please be aware that dogs are not allowed on the other offers!
CAN I BUY FOOD AND DRINKS ON THE BOATHOUSE? IS THERE A TOILET?
Around the lake there are several establishments where you can buy food and drinks and there is access to several toilets. Unfortunately, you cannot buy food and drinks in the Boathouse itself and there is no toilet.
CAN I RENT A KAYAK OR STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD AT THE LAGO DI BRAIES?
Kayaks or stand-up paddleboards cannot be rented at the lake.
The Boathouse at Lago di Braies exclusively rents out wooden rowing boats.
Also keep in mind, that Kayaks or stand-up paddleboards are prohibited on the lake.
WHERE CAN I PARK IF I TRAVEL BY CAR?
If you travel by car, you can park directly at the lake. There are three car parks that are open 24 hours a day. However, please be aware of the closing times of the road! From 10.07.25 to 10.09.25 the road from Ferrara to the lake will be closed from 09.30 to 16.00. For more detailed information, please visit the website of the Braies Valley Tourism Association:
